   The Zomba prison project.  For hundreds of thousands of Malawians, it will be the first time they will be hearing their country mentioned during a Grammy award ceremony. No Malawian musician or band has ever won or even been nominated for the prestigious award. However, thanks to Malawi ’s Zomba Central Prison. Not for a prison break, but for producing a music album that not only Malawians, but the world can love. The 20-song album was recorded in 2013 by visiting American Grammy-winning producer Ian Brenner.  The group’s album, “ I have no everything here ”, was recorded behind prison walls in Zomba, Malawi.  In 2008, the band was formed with a startup of $800 for purpose of entertaining inmates.  With the money donated by an HIV/AIDS awareness agency, the group was able to purchase basic music instruments. The 6.7 magnitude earthquake struck the country’s remote northwest region in the early hours of Monday. It was reported that the tremor was felt several kilometers away in Myanmar, Bangladesh and Tibet. India’s military personnel have been assisting in rescue operations. Several people are still trapped in rubble according to reports. The country’s National Disaster Management Authority told a news agency that at least five people had been confirmed dead. Other media reports have so far pegged the death toll at six. A six storey building is reported to have collapsed. Power failure in many affected areas had also been reported. The criteria involved 11 different factors including property rights, innovation, taxes, technology, corruption, freedom, red tape, investor protection and stock market performance. Information used for the criteria was obtained from sources such as Freedom House, Heritage Foundation, Property Rights Alliance, Transparency International, World Bank Group and World Economic Forum. The truck according to BBC had been offloading cooking gas while some locals were been queuing up for in readiness for Christmas. As hundreds of locals were buying gas for meals on Christmas, the truck exploded killing several people including factory workers. The fire raged for at least five hours as emergency services struggled to put it off. Survivors as well as those who succumbed to the flames were rushed to the Nnamdi Azikwe University hospital. The hospital is situated in Nnewi, an area predominantly inhabitted by Christians. Workers from the gas plant as wel customers were among several certifified dead according to statements from locals.
