Oscar Pistorius no longer under 24-hour house arrest

SOUTH AFRICA - Murder convicted blade runner Oscar Pistorius is now free to leave his uncle's home where he is being kept under house arrest.
A judge granted him bail of $685 (ZAR10 000) today, allowing to leave the house between 7am and 12pm.
He will however be under electronic surveillance.
Pistorius was found guilty of murder five days ago, overturning an earier ruling of culpable homicide.
His defense is expected to file an appeal against the murder conviction at the country’s constitutional court.
Pistorius killed his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp claiming he mistook her for an intruder on February 14, 2013.
However, despite being granted bail, Pistorius may not be allowed to travel beyond a radius of 20 kilometers.
He was previously placed under house arrest after spending serving part of the of the five-year sentence he was given last year by Judge Thokozile Masipa.
